So I have to restart this blog again on the order by the subdecree from the ministry of domestic affairs. Here is the preview of what are on the menu the next few weeks:

Look what I got for breakfast! The most awesome sandwich ever…………………..ever.

Behold! the new song by a random youtube video. I’m not sure whether you like it, but I don’t care.

Here is a cute cat picture I got from a random internet surfing.

I feel I need to share this amazing story I got from some random email forwarder, please forward this story to 100 friends otherwise the earth will explode.

Check out my facebook page for an update on my twitter page which I tweet about an update in my blog page which I ask to check out my tumblr page which I have some update about my IM status. And all theses are done while I am in the toilet doing a rather important business.

You just love the internet that it single-handedly gives all meanings to all theses.

Anyway I’ve decided to keep the same theme and design I have since the start 4 years ago with a few minors changes:

you can now comment on all pages, not just blog posts

the post title is cleaned to remove all small meta details and font size is slightly increased

the comment link is moved to the bottom right of the post instead of just under the title

all unecessary post items, links and inactive links are removed

It sure is quiet in here, I could hear the echo.

>ping “anybody home?”

Type escape sequence to abort.

Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to ”anybody home?”, timeout is 2 seconds:

…..

Success rate is ∞ percent (∞/∞), round-trip min/avg/max = ∞/∞/∞ ms

Vireak.net is 365 days old today (if you’re numerically challenged, 365 days is 1 calendar year). Oh no! Vireak.net is probably gonna to listen the “happy birthday song” crap. So where does the time go? Not sure! How about some meaningless numbers (gotta apologize to those who are numerically challenged):

as of today, Reak has written exactly 60 wonderful blog entries in 6 categories, a mere 1 lonely post a week,

that is accompanied by 501 cool, calm and collected comments, an average 8.35 comments per post,

there has been a total of just under 10,000 unique visitors and over 100,000 hits,

the top 5 most visited posts are here, here, here, here and here,

the most commented post is here with 29 comments, the rest of the top 5 most commented posts are here with 26, here with 25, here with 22 and here with 20,

out of the 60 entries, only two are left uncommented. Help me set a record by commenting here and here,

my own most favorite and most artistic entries though are here, here and here,

on the dark side, there has been 12,250 spam comments caught-that is an average just over 33 a day,

some of the weird search engine key phrases that have landed here are “funny looking cambodian guy”, “khmer girls in love”, “cambodia do they make good wife”, and “ah-oun cambodian”. Oh no! who search for all of these?

All right, that’s my friends! some meaningless numbers and stats. Thanks for your visits and wonderful supports over the year!

They say friends know more things about you than you know yourself. What would you do if you forget your own phone number? — You ring up your friend and ask “…by the way, do you remember my number?“. Most likely yes!

Now you even got more important thing you forget…”an important password“. Holy crab! What to do? But, first:

you try all the names of the girls you know….only to find out that it isn’t right

then it must be one of the girls’ phone numbers………no! not that either

it must be one of the girls’ birthday you can remember…..then again, it is to no avail

you pour some holy water on your head hoping to remember that damned password….holy water? holy crab! it doesn’t work either…

this time, you try something more clever. You point the Harry Potter magic <strike>wang</strike> wand to your head and shout “Legilimens“…..you can call yourself lucky that nothing explodes….

now you decide to go the Khmer way… “Jol Kru“. But “Kru Arok Arak Neak Ta” cannot help “kon chap kon preap” either…

You’re running out of options. What to do? What to do? Of course, you turn to your friends and ask “…by the way, do you happen to remember my password?“

Whenever I speak this word, people think I’m an alien and ask “where are you from?”. Then again, maybe I am indeed an alien. No wait, I’m not exactly an alien. I’m just from Siem Reap.

And you do realize that apart from Angkor Wat and hundreds of other temples, there is one more thing that differentiate Siem Reap from the rest of Cambodia. It’s the way we speak.

You might have heard of it before or you might have never heard of it before. So I thought it might be fun to put this word up for people to guess what does it mean? If you happens to know this word, please be silent for a while. Vireak, alien or not alien. It’s you to decide.

No prize, no free dinner for this though! Unless someone generous to give me a good deal for my fridge. Then I may give you free dinner. But then if guess wrongly….how about a treat?
