What does it mean?
Posted in Cambodia & Beyond by reak at 6:53 pm |

A brand new word from Siem Reap for you to guess… Again, if you happen to know this word, please be silent for a while. Let those who do not know make a guess. The last Siem Reap word took more than a week before being figured out. And that was La’eark. This time, it sound a bit similar:

La’eng

[hint] it’s an adjective used to describe human.

If you get it right, you’ll get an ice cream as long as I get an ice cream if you get it wrong. Deal?

I am sure i am rite although i am not Siem Reap-er. La’eng means Industrious (in khmer ឧស្សាហ៍).

Mr. V said:

This time 200% sure, it means to be afraid, industrious, diligent!

Bunleap said:

Absolutely right, both of you get the ice creams.

Wow, impressive this time….Daravuth and Mr.V…. didn’t expect so fast. But I never heard of the word meaning “to be afraid”…

Bunleap: i did say to give away ice cream didn’t I? but on one condition that people agree with the deal… but no one agreed…so no ice cream.

Vireak: Sorry don’t know the word either.. Thanks Mr. V.
