Benefits of studying abroad!

Being a scholar, is it a big deal? Well, let see the benefits of studying abroad:

1. Faster and greater access to educational resources on the internet such as YouTube.

2. Pick up the best research skills by keying the right keywords into Google Research Engine.

3. Greater exposure to international affairs such as the English Premier League.

4. Pick up interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills especially with the opposite genders (of course).

5. Pick up new skills such as “Card Tricks” because scholars are bored, scholars gather and play cards.

6. Pick up some cooking skills because there’re no khmer food around. Cook or die! Choose one!

7. Earn some respects back home because people think scholars really learn alot of things.

8. For girl scholars, pick up some sport activities due to the fact that every gathering, the guy scholars tend to break out for a football game leaving the girls with little choice but to either find something to do such as badminton or join the guy football match as goalkeepers. Thus helps to lose a bit of weight.

9. For some girls (maybe some guys too), right after graduation they can go home and proudly say:

go-home-to-see-someone-look.gif

So, is it a big deal? You decide!

There are some more. I did gain a lot of XPs.

1. YouTube is slow; I used direct ftp to download with high quality.

3. Greater exposure to international affairs such as Hollywood, Korean movies, Japanese movies, Chinese movies, series…

5. Playing cards with scholars is quite boring sometimes.

6. Pick up some cooking skills because there is no one cooking for us.

7. Earn some respects back home because people think scholars really learn alot of things? So far, I have known nothing about my course.

wow, that’s cool! I’ve never been aware of all these. Anyone else have some more points to share?

Here’s some more:

1. Sleep till noon and not having my mum kick my ass
2. Not doing my laundry for two whole weeks and not having my mum kick my ass
3. Not taking a shower and brushing my teeth for three days and not having my mum kick my ass
4. Playing card with other scholars all night long and not having my mum kick my ass
5. Learning how to beat the plagiarism-detecting software by cut-and-pasting but making some subtle changes to the text
6. Hyperproductivity: finishing reports in superhuman time (usually the night before the dealine)
7. Life lesson: finding out that eating instant noodle for three consecutive days really sucks
8. Another life lesson: finding out that having to clean the house (especially the bathroom) sucks
9. Yet another life lesson: finding out that [insert your experience here] sucks

Vichea: pt. 7, it’s not what we learn, it’s what people think we learn…that’s my point.

Tharum: now you know…keke.

Panha: you sum up nicely. But don’t stay near me if you’ve not brushed your teeth for 3 days or i’ll kick your ***

hm… have anyone experience discrimination from local people? pim experienced once that some local students dun like scholarship students coz their gov paid for us and those money come from taxes their parents/themselve had paid. yet, there are many homeless/jobless people in their country, why instead of helping those people they give us money??? –> politic issue!

reak said:

that discrimination is bound to happen one way or another. There’re good and bad people everywhere…including our own country. So be it!

Anyway, where is Pim studying? Japan?
