I used to believe, did you? did we?

When we were young (by young, i mean like kids, by kids, i mean like young), our dear seniors and folks used to tell us and make us believe all these things (listed in quotes). I used to, did you too? did we?:

1. “If you eat sleeping, you will become a crocodile”. Now we start to wonder, how can one become a croc when one already looks like a croc? Crikey! Talking about croc…

2. “There is a giant crocodile named “Charavan” in the West Baray as big as the baray itself, just like in folk tales”. Better don’t be foul-mouth (of course, i’m not foul-mouth). To put thing in perspective, the West Baray is an Angkorian water reservoir which is 2×4 kilometers in size. Wah! Talking about water…

3. “If you eat a lot of fish tails, you’ll know how to swim”. No surprise, don’t know how much fish tails I ate because of this. Talking about eating…

4. “Don’t eat the bottom of the kro’lan, it brings bad luck”. Kro’lan is a kind of rice dessert cooked in a bamboo, it tastes the best at the bottom. No wonder it brings bad luck. What bad luck? Like meeting ghost. Talking about ghost…

5. “Ghosts always haunt the guy in the middle”. Amongst me and my 2 brothers, I always slept in the middle. No wonder! At this point, you may start to wonder, all of these believes are sure no rainbow and butterflies. Talking about rainbow…

6. “Rainbow is sacred, don’t point your finger at the rainbow, or it will be cut”. Creepy, I never dared to point my finger at the rainbow. Did you?

Did we? Are we on the same boat? Or rather are we riding on the same elephant? Talking about elephant…

Just received a mail from my mum where she wrote “Your dad dreamed of riding an elephant. He rode it very fast! but instead facing forward, he rode with his face backwards.”

Now what can we deduct from this? A lotto number, perhaps!

Another one would be, “Eating the end of the sugar cane trunk and you’ll be able to swim!” Can’t believe adults are so good at cheating children like us…

No kidding, but I really bought these cr*ps when I was young… I’ll certainly enjoy selling them to the next generation…

No actually, the next generation don’t bother much about this…they’re quiet high tech. So we’re more or less the last generation who bought all of these….oh well!
