Spotted this while was on holiday back home in a Friend column of a local magazine. If I’m not wrong, it was Angkor Thom magazine. If you don’t understand Khmer, here is a direct translation:
My name is Vireak (the man who lacks heart), 22 years-old from Siem Reap, looking for friends of both genders. Please call 012******.
There must be alot of Vireaks in Siem Reap, but this one came close…very close. If he was to be 21, it would might have caused a little bit of a stir from those who know me. The look-for-friends ad might have been something like this:
My name is Vireak (the heartless man), 21 years-old from Siem Reap, looking for friends especially girls […]. Please call (65)9*******.

btw, i can’t post in Khmer. The khmer words are in an image. Wat i did was created an image in photoshop by putting those words in khmer.

in family…reak uses Bong for younger siblings, and “yom” for elders. It’s cuter for girls to use their name than ‘guy’…..all my girl siblings use “neang”
